The Problem Comes First

A Shared Code Is Not a Complete Security System

An entrance may appear secure while still creating serious operational risks. A common PIN can be shared. A door may fail to close. Visitors may be released without visual verification. Management may have no reliable record of who entered and when.

01

One PIN for Everyone

Shared codes reduce accountability and are difficult to manage when staff, families or contractors change.

Better approach: individual PINs, RFID credentials or authorised mobile access.
02

No Time Restrictions

A basic keypad can allow access at any hour unless schedules and user permissions are properly configured.

Better approach: access by user, door, day and authorised time period.
03

No Entry History

Without individual credentials, management cannot easily confirm which user opened a door at a particular time.

Better approach: event logs showing user, door, date and time.
04

Unverified Visitors

Busy staff may release an entrance without clearly seeing or speaking with the person outside.

Better approach: video intercom and controlled remote door release.
05

Door Left Open

The reader may work correctly, but a poorly closing door can leave the centre unsecured after someone enters.

Better approach: correct door hardware, closer adjustment and door monitoring.
06

Disconnected Systems

A keypad, camera, intercom and alarm installed separately may not provide a clear operating process.

Better approach: one planned solution designed around the centre’s routine.

Secure Access Control

The Right Entry Method for Every User

Staff, parents, managers and contractors should not all have the same access. We configure each credential around the person’s role, approved doors and authorised times.

Individual PIN codes
RFID cards and key fobs
Fingerprint access where appropriate
Mobile access where supported
Temporary contractor credentials
Immediate removal of lost credentials
Access schedules by day and time
Event history by user and door
When one person no longer requires access, remove one credential—not change the code for everybody.

Management & Accountability

Know Who Entered, Where and When

A professionally configured access-control platform helps authorised administrators manage users, schedules and doors without depending on one shared code.

Add or remove staff and users
Set permitted access days
Apply start and expiry dates
Restrict users to selected doors
Review granted and denied events
Manage multiple entry points
1. Keypad or ReaderIdentifies the authorised user through PIN, RFID, biometric or supported mobile credential.
2. Electric LockingSecures the controlled entrance until a valid credential or release command is received.
3. Door HardwareHelps the entrance close and return to a secured position after each person passes.
4. Exit & Emergency ControlsSupports internal release and required emergency operation as part of the door design.
Real Systems Working Together

More Than a Keypad

The strongest childcare entry solution considers the complete doorway and its daily use—not only the reader mounted outside.

The Door, Camera, Intercom and Alarm Have Different Jobs

A complete system combines several layers of protection so staff have a clear and practical process during the day and the building remains protected after hours.

Access control manages authorised users
CCTV visually verifies activity
Video intercom manages visitors
Door monitoring identifies open or forced doors
Alarm protects the centre after hours
Mobile apps provide authorised remote access
The keypad identifies the user. The lock secures the door. The camera verifies the event. The intercom manages visitors. The alarm protects the centre after hours.

Childcare Security Systems Sydney: Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Childcare Security Systems

Clear answers about access control, CCTV, video intercoms, alarms, backup power, installation and ongoing support for childcare centres across Sydney and regional NSW.

How much does a childcare security system cost?

The cost depends on the existing equipment, the type of entrance, the required hardware and the level of system integration.

A straightforward keypad upgrade may start from approximately $990, while complete solutions involving access control, electric locking, video intercom, CCTV, alarms or multiple doors require an on-site assessment and tailored quotation.

We inspect the existing cabling, door hardware and security equipment before recommending what genuinely needs to be repaired, reused or replaced.

Can you upgrade our existing keypad or intercom?

Yes. We regularly repair, replace and modernise existing keypad and intercom systems.

Before recommending an upgrade, we assess the existing cabling, power supply, locking hardware and equipment compatibility. Where practical, suitable infrastructure can be reused instead of replacing the complete system unnecessarily.

Can parents and staff have individual PINs or RFID credentials?

Yes. Each authorised parent, staff member, contractor or manager can receive an individual PIN, RFID card, key fob or compatible mobile credential.

  • Identify which authorised user entered
  • Remove one person’s access when it is no longer required
  • Restrict access to selected doors
  • Apply permitted days and entry times
  • Avoid relying on one shared code for everyone
Can access be restricted by date and time?

Yes. Access can be configured according to the user, door, day and authorised time period.

Depending on the selected system, administrators may manage credentials through dedicated access-control software, a web browser or a compatible smart-keypad mobile application.

Temporary access can also be created for contractors, relief staff and short-term authorised users.

Can staff unlock the entrance from a phone or iPad?

Yes, where the installed system supports remote access and the administrator has authorised the staff member.

  • Answer a video intercom call
  • See and speak with the visitor
  • Remotely release the entrance
  • Manage selected access functions from an approved device
Do you install CCTV in childcare classrooms and outdoor areas?

Yes. We install CCTV in appropriate childcare areas, including:

  • Entrances and exits
  • Classrooms and activity rooms
  • Reception areas and corridors
  • Outdoor play areas and perimeter zones
  • Gates, car parks and common areas

Camera positioning is planned around visibility, safety and privacy. Cameras are not installed in toilets, change rooms or other private areas.

How long can CCTV footage be stored?

Recording time depends on the number of cameras, recording resolution, frame rate, recording mode, hard-drive capacity and the required retention period.

Systems may be designed for approximately 15, 30, 60 or 90 days, or for longer periods such as six or nine months where sufficient storage is installed.

We calculate the required storage according to the centre’s actual camera system and retention requirements.

Can access control, intercom, CCTV and alarms work together?

Yes. These systems can be integrated so that each component performs a specific role within one coordinated security process.

  • The access-control system identifies the authorised user
  • The electric lock secures or releases the door
  • The intercom allows staff to verify visitors
  • The CCTV system records and visually verifies the event
  • The alarm protects the centre outside operating hours

Depending on the equipment, an access or intercom event may also trigger a camera view, recording event, alert or another programmed action.

What happens during a power failure or emergency evacuation?

Security systems can be fitted with backup power. Alarm panels normally include battery backup, while access control, intercoms, CCTV systems and network equipment can also be supported by suitable batteries or UPS backup systems.

Emergency exit devices, break-glass units and safe-egress arrangements must remain available so occupants can exit safely during an emergency.

The final setup depends on the equipment, door configuration and the centre’s emergency procedures.

Can you work outside childcare operating hours?

Yes. We regularly arrange installation work outside normal childcare operating hours.

Work involving ladders, tools, cabling, drilling or door modifications may be completed after children and families have left the centre to improve safety and minimise disruption.

Do you provide ongoing support after installation?

Yes. Ongoing support is a major part of our service.

  • User training
  • Remote troubleshooting
  • System configuration assistance
  • Maintenance and repairs
  • Software and equipment support
  • Urgent contact through phone or WhatsApp where appropriate

Many issues can be diagnosed or resolved remotely. Where an on-site visit is required, we arrange the appropriate next step.

Do you service childcare centres outside Sydney?

Yes. Amaro Electronics services childcare centres across Sydney and can travel to regional NSW and the ACT depending on the project.

We have completed work in locations including the Southern Highlands, Wollongong, Canberra, Newcastle, Mudgee and other regional areas.

Travel requirements and project logistics are discussed during the assessment and quotation process.

Discussed faults with the existing residential intercom system and that same day John visited my home. He located and fixed the fault, then went above and beyond by installing a keypad for an additional entry option. John is an expert in his field, professional and polite.
